Changes to the PCO Licence Application Process September 2015

From September 1st 2015 Transport for London has changed the way in which new and existing drivers can apply and renew their PCO drivers licence.

It is a natural progression of time and as we become more technologically able, more and more things are going digital.

No longer can you just print the PCO licence application online and fill it in and send it.

Drivers must now go to TFL’s website and sign up then either choose to apply online or request a pre-printed form which they can then submit via post.

For drivers who are familiar of the way Uber requests for all documents to be given to them by scanning and uploading via their website, the system TfL are now using to accept PCO licence applications is very similar.

We understand that the new process can be somewhat confusing, but as always we are here to help. All you need to do is come and visit our office at Driver View Training, Unit 3, 116 Mile End Road, London, E1 4UN (Call and book an appointment to get the fastest service 020 8088 1230)

Once you come in, we can advise you on what documents you need and how to register online with TFL, if you make a booking with us for your Topographical Skills Test, we can also help you with the full online application.

The fees for our services and the PCO licence application are all still the same and you will find us to be the cheapest in London and United Kingdom. This is not something we just say; we can beat all other test centre’s at cost and speed of your application.

As always once you have your licence we are here to help you find a minicab operator or chauffeur company you can work with and help you sign up and register with Uber, at no extra charge unlike other training providers.

Just to remind you of the costs of getting a PCO licence with us is as follows. In total it will cost you £466.85 and on a normal application it takes around 6 weeks to receive your PCO licence.

Topographical Skills Test- £50 (Training included if needed)
DBS CRB Check – £56.85
Application filling in – £30
Medical Declaration with Private TfL authorised Doctor – £80
TfL Licence Fee- £250

Remember, the topographical skills assessment is a guaranteed pass as we make sure you learn and understand the assessment before you leave the same day with your certificate. We also advise our customers to double check the price of the medical declaration with their own doctor and on rare cases it works out cheaper to go with your own GP, in which case you save money. Often people do like to stick with our doctor as we can provide the service faster than the NHS as we use a private GP.

Please get in touch with us if you have any questions regarding the latest changes to the TfL PCO Licence application process by emailing us at info@driverview.co.uk or call us on 020 8088 1230.

With regards to the upcoming changes such as the English Language Test, Capping on the number of PCO drivers in London and Geographic Test, we will keep you updated as and when we get the information from Transport for London, our team is always in contact with TfL to ensure we have the news for you first.
